Boots and minichaps

Boots should be worn in combination with chaps, as boots stop just above the ankle. The chaps replace the boot shaft, so to speak. The boot shaft stabilises the rider's leg by slightly limiting the range of motion. Because leather or rubber is less slippery than fabric, it gives the rider extra security and support when riding. Most riding careers start with rubber riding boots and continue with leather riding boots.
